This is me now:
This is me when I was 10:
I really like this quote by Benjamin Franklin:
I think this book is cute. I love reading it to my classes every year! The children can read along with me and become involved in learning colors. They are encouraged to be reading by themselves.
I love that quote. I believe that a person can tell kids things all day, but if you dont teach them it is pointless. A father can tell a son to be a great man, but if you do not teach him howhe isure to fail.
ReplyDeleteRose I love this quote also. It is very important that we not only tell them but we show them. One quote I like by Emma Goldman is: A thought for the day. No one has yet fully realized the wealth of sympathy, kindness and generosity hidden in the soul of a child. The effort of every true education should be to unlock that treasure. That's where we come in.
ReplyDeleteHello Rose,
ReplyDeleteI believe your quote and children's book relate to each other to demonstrate your style of teaching. By creating hands-on learning experiences, such as having students to identify the colors in the story, then doing an enrichment activity based upon your story, you are involving students in their learning in a more meaningful way. Making learning meaningful to student's cultures through the use of stories and show-and-tell is a wonderful way to inspire students to teach collaborations and understanding starting at a young age. Wonderful post this week!
